Whaddaya call a Sundae that’s not yours?

Behold The Nacho Sundae! It’s bold. It’s meaty. But most importantly- it’s not real.

At the time of writing, this post is sitting at a social reach of over 3.7 million people and still counting.

On April Fools Day 2019, we wanted to release an epic prank that would equally delight and confuse the DQ Community, and push sales of our Tex-Mex menu items. Glitch Labs was granted special access into the DQ Kitchen to create and photograph the Nacho Sundae in preparation for our prank. But little did we know, what we were really creating was a piece of Dairy Queen history.

Our prank was published to our social media pages and quickly turned into our most popular post of all time. Our audience was completely hooked on the Nacho Sundae. Some caught on to the joke, some debated about how good it would taste, and some were furious that it was not a real menu item. It was glorious! There was even a ChangeNow.org petition created to make the Nacho Sundae a reality. That’s what we call a successful piece of social content.

National Puppy Day holds a very special place in the heart of Glitch Creative Labs. After all, we’re a team of dog lovers that happens to be led by a rather dashing boxer named Ozi Bear. So when the opportunity to create a new community-focused event for social media jumped into our laps, we barked at the chance to create something special.

We wanted dog lovers everywhere enjoy a cool treat with their faithful furry companions on National Puppy Day. So we create a fun new campaign that would offer free dog sized soft serve “Pup Cups” and the result was a howling good time!

In the days following National Puppy Day, Dairy Queen’s social media pages get flooded with pictures of happy dogs enjoying their Pup Cups. We even implemented a contest called “The Next Pup Cup Star” were our fans could vote for a local pup to become the face of that year’s Pup Cup branding elements and social media posts.

Before the sun even rises, she begins to put every ounce of love and effort she has into the perfect cake. Cool Idea, Bro

At Glitch Labs, we tend to roll with random new projects if the right inspiration hits our brain meat. During one of our research sessions, we noticed an odd problem that plagued our progress. It was something that all lovers of tasty frozen treats have come across at one point or another, and we decided to tackle the issue of a melty Blizzard.

 

So after a lengthy R&D process, not to mention a few brain freezes, the DQ-Zie was born. This marvel of modern science fits around every possible Blizzard size on the Dairy Queen menu. It may seem like an ordinary insulated beverage wrap, but it’s patented polymer blend creates a layer of protection between your hand and your Blizzard. So your hands won’t get cold holding a Blizzard, and your Blizzard won’t melt because of your body heat.
