For the Silverback Juice Company, a Texas-based vape juice maker and distributor, that road proved to be full of unexpected obstacles. To find success, they needed a guide to help them navigate the digital marketplace, federal guidelines, and the dark reaches of social media.
Each obstacle presented its own unique set of challenges. Glitch Creative Labs needed to cut down the thick vines of red tape and waded through rough digital restrictions to crown Silverback as the new king of the vaping jungle.

Going into this project, we knew that certain federal restrictions would need to be taken into account when drafting any new design elements. So we had to be very mindful of what we could, and not, use on our new product packaging design.
Our research and design team had an exciting challenge on their hands. But with help from the legal experts at Silverback, we were able to create a modern new bottle design that was fully compliant with all current FDA regulations and implemented safeguards that would comply with any future federal restrictions.
The result creates a genuinely striking presence on store shelves. The Silverback lineup is bold, modern, and has the perfect amount of aggressive line work that lets consumers know that this brand wants you to take a flavorful journey with their troop.

What Does It Take To Rebrand A Product-Line In just Two Week?
Glitch Labs was contacted by the fine artisans at Split Decision Cold Brew Company with an exciting challenge. That challenge was to completely rebrand their entire cold brew coffee line in time for BevNet 2018. The only problem was that this expo of fine drinkables was only 15 days away! How did we complete this daunting task in record time?
Drawing a successful conclusion was simple with the help of science and cold brewed coffee.

We were honored by the Silverback crew with the chance to help them introduce two new flavors to their already stellar lineup. Let’s meet Amy and Harambe.
Amy is a sweet girl who has a flavor profile that combines sweet caramel with the smokey crunch of peanut butter brittle. When approaching the design of this new flavor, we wanted to tell the consumer what the taste would be like before they even read the flavor profile. We feel that the earthy tones of our color pallet perfectly illustrate the taste of this sweet vape confection.
Harambe is a great ape that will never be forgotten. Considering that this flavor’s namesake was born in our local zoo, we wanted to give justice to the look and feel of this product packaging. The taste profile mimics the flavor of a creamy cinnamon liqueur, so we wanted that represented with a soft cream color on the product packaging.
We wanted to do something special for the design of Harambe. After getting approval, we added a small detail on the design that pays homage to the memory of Harambe. There is a small drop within Silverback’s logo that shares the same color as the rest of the bottle. In memory of the tragedy that ended the life of Harambe, we gave the drop a blood red tone. We never want to forget Harambe.
It’s the small creative details that really endear a brand to an audience. When these new flavors were released, it was no surprise that they quickly became a sensation within the vape community.

Elegance and luxury are the names of the game when it came time to create the look for Silverback’s new signature line of premium E-Juices. For this project, we needed to take a step back from the bold design of our last Silverback projects and focus on what creates a luxury experience.
Our main inspiration came from the look and feel of a luxury car brand. We wanted to invoke the same sense of timeless sophistication that these types of brand afford their clients. So we use that thought to create a monogram emblem that would serve as the seal for this new series. We feel it gave the right hint of sophistication this line needed to convey.
Next, we focused on creating a label design that would give our bottles the sleek curves found on a luxury automobile. Using a combination of matte black and spot UV for background, along with subtle line-work, helped us create the elegant sensibility we were hoping to achieve. The Gold and Platinum accents act as the emblem and other accouterments found on the body of a European roadster.
This design project allowed us to flex the more sophisticated section of our collective design imaginations. However, our next project would enable us fully to unleash our rage.

Silverback’s new Mad Drops line wanted to bring on a Nuclear Winter with their new range of atomically charged flavors. It needed the right look. It needed the right attitude. It needed to be the bomb.
The bomb is exactly what we gave them in this Pop Art-inspired design. The Mad Drops logo is literally shaped like an atomic bomb that is plummeting down to Earth. Each flavor of the line has its own signature color scheme that acts as the backdrop and falling animation for the logo.
We absolutely love the final look of this design. War may be hell, but the creative process of this project was a complete joy to accomplish.

So we had to get very creative if we wanted to build an active troop of social media followers.
To start, we took advantage of the picture-based nature of Instagram by creating a series of design-based posted that would give Silverback a strong sense of professionalism. We wanted to step away from using the industry standard of meme-based posts or scantily clad women to represent our client’s product. The result is a cohesive grid of eye-catching posts that is truly unique in the vaping marketplace.
Next, we shifted our focus away from the usual set of social influencers and instead focused our marketing budgets to contract artists from across the country to help create unique content for Silverback, under the direction of Glitch Design Labs. To round out our efforts, our Social Media Department directly interacts with our sizable group of followers and uses a special suite of automation software that gives Glitch Labs 24 hour access to our fans and helps generates new followers.
